Where did the weekend go?

It was one of those 'blink and you miss it' weekends here LOL! On Saturday I had got my arm twisted into judging the craft section of our village Flower & vegetable show as the original judge had given backword, which was an interesting experience. The stitching section was very small (and I knew both entrants!), the hardest class to judge was the handmade cards as I don't do papercrafts. I enjoyed it and I'll be very surprised if I don't get the call to do it again. Of course if I'm not judging next year I can enter :)

The rest of the weekend was spent finishing my piece for the redwork exchange and playing with a new toy. DH has had to totally rebuild his PC as the technology has moved on and it was going to be hard to get a motherboard that worked with the harddisks/graphics/chipset etc. The plus side of this is that he decided to totally revamp how our home network is set up so the old PC that I'’ve been using has had his old hard disks added to it and is going to become a file server and I've got a new laptop! We'’ve been talking about it for a while as my current pc takes up a lot of space on my desk and it'’s a pain to move it when I want to get the sewing machine out. This is very exciting for me as usually I get DH's cast offs when it comes to the new technology.

I also had a good week for post last week as well as my redwork exchange, Michelle gifted me her copy of The Victoria Samplers Autumn Garden. Thank you very much Michelle. And then on Friday I received my Birthday Buddies exchange from my partner Becky. This exchange is between members of the Sampler Guild here in the UK and the Northwest Sampler Guild in the US. Becky made me a gorgeous scissor keep and pincushion and included lots of other goodies in the parcel which made me feel thoroughly spoilt.
