It's been a while....

It's been a while since my last update partly because I was busy last week so I didn't spend much time at my PC when I was home and also because it's been so warm here that I don't want to spend much time in my study which is in the attic and is the warmest room in the house.

On the job front I've had a bit of good news in that my redundancy has been put back a month to the end of July after we sat down and worked out what needed doing before I leave and realised that there no way it was all going to get done but the end of June. I'm glad to have an extra month of work but I was starting to look forward to enjoying having July off!

This weekend DH and I went up to Durham for the day. I don't remember ever having visited before and we enjoyed exploring the old town. Given that it was the day of an England World Cup match we made sure that we where in the Cathedral at match time. The Cathedral is a stunning building and there are some stunning gorgeous embroidered alter frontals and kneelers. We also climbed the tower which gave us a glorious view out over the city. Later on in the evening we went down to the riverside where some of the university students where giving a free concert of Chamber music and just chilled out.

Now for the important stuff - the stitching update :) My stitching time has been limited over the last week but I've managed to finish my rotation slot on Dragon Virtues Afgan, I've finished another filler star and finished the cross stitching on the next dragon - Patience

The weekend was my Summer Arbor SAL again I really enjoyed this one, I think this might be my favourite of the Arbors.

And while we were out on Saturday I took the Shepherd Needleroll by Shepherds Bush with me to work on. I love needlerolls but I never seem to get round to stitching them so I've decided to join Katrina's SAL to get some of my numerous kit's done. Here's this months progress

Karoline, you've been a busy girl! Wonderful progress on your stitching.
I'll have to add Durham to my list of must see places on my next trip to England. Not sure when it'll be, but I'll get back there sometime! :D

I love your WIPs, Karoline. I'd love to go to Durham some time. I spent a year in Durham, North Carolina, USA, so I guess I have no excuse for not visiting the original, far closer Durham, England! ;)

Your stitching is looking great, I especially like Summer Arbour. It's years since I've been to Durham but I agree, it's a lovely place :)

Durham is one of my favorite places, my parents meet while they were both at university there. Your stitching looks wonderful as always.

I adore Durham - I'm lucky that I get over there a bit as my SIL lives there. Love your needleroll progress and Summer arbour too.
