Starting as I mean to go on!

I'm hoping that this is a good omen for 2014 - I have a finish already and I have managed to do some finishing!

My finish is Just Nan's Mermaid Heart. If you remember I finished the cross stitch last year, leaving just the back stitch, shell stitch and all the bling to attach.  So as soon as it came up in my rotation I was able to finish it.

This is going to go into Rosie's newly redecorated bedroom and she's very pleased with the end result.  At her request I'm now working on the accompanying Whim-zi design.

On the finishing front I got the children's two ornaments finished in time (just!) to get them on the tree this year.

Before I worked on Mermaid Heart I did my rotation slot on Anniversary Roses.  I hadn't quite realised how far on I was with this sampler, I though I was at the half way point but actually it's nearer two thirds.  All of which makes my goal of finishing it this year more achievable.

Lovely finish on your Just Nan piece, Karoline--that charm is so pretty on it! And I love the children's ornaments--I so wish I had stitched my sons ornaments each year when they were young...
